Do I need prior CAD experience? +

Do I need an Apple Pencil? Or a compatible stylus? +

Yes, for Part3D on iPad, you need an Apple Pencil or any compatible stylus. For Part3D on macOS, you can use your mouse or trackpad just like you would in any other CAD software.

Does Part3D need an internet connection? +

No. Part3D runs entirely on-device. Network access is only used if you explicitly send a print job to a networked printer or sync files via iCloud.

Can Part3D replace desktop CAD for hobby projects? +

For modeling simple parts, quick sketches, and sending work to your slicer, Part3D is the perfect tool. For more complex projects, you will still want a full desktop CAD software like Fusion 360, OnShape, or Solidworks.
